Large Scale

The Large Scale paintings explore the journey of the self and the nature of social interaction.

The red circle, lost within Exposure, returns as the individual.

Across the paintings it moves through choice, exile, attraction, intimacy, birth, and death. Sometimes it stands alone. Sometimes another circle enters the space. Sometimes many do.

The relationships change, and the meaning changes with them.

The series asks what happens to the individual when placed beside another person, inside a group, or outside one.

The paintings range from 75 cm to 180 cm and are made with Japanese ink, oil paint, and aerosol paint.
